The difference inherent in knives is simply due to the way they have been machined and finished.
'Poly-Master' Machine knives has been manufactured over a period of 20 years of experience.
A knife is not merely a piece of steel showing up a cutting edge. It is essential to find out what lies concealed behind this outer appearance which cannot be proved, until the knives-fitted
into any appropriate machine-begin to do their work. But this "intrinsical value" is determining by the machining performance each individual knife had to undergo.

THE CARE OF POLY-MASTER MACHINE KNIVES:

It is not always realised how the life of a knife can be lengthened by good re-grinding or how easily the knives of good quality can be destroyed. All re-grinding should be carried out on an automatic knife grinding machine with an ample supply of coolant, this latter point being particularly important, as no coolant, at all is less dangerous than a small amount, although 'dry grinding' is definitely not recommended, as the edge of a knife can be burnt very easily. It should also be remembered that a light cur shouldn't be used on the grinding machine, as a heavy cut can very easily generate heat and thus ruin cutting edge. The correct grit and grade of grinding stone should always be used and if you are facing any problem in the choice of these, ask us and we will recommend the best grit and grade for our 'Poly-Master' Machine knives.
Finally after regrinding, all knives with a fine edge (such as guillotine knives and wood-working cutters etc.) should be well honed. This operation is very often omitted and very few realise how much the cutting qualities can be improved by spending several minutes honing the edge.
